I haven't played much public since I reinistalled myself a few days ago. I have to say, I'm extremely rusty...keep catching myself with 1k minerals during attacks, or when I expand I dont get enough gates up and running fast enough, not anticipating pylon counts, build order off here and there, silly building placement etc etc. But I agree with the OP's statement about public games...even staying away from those silly fastest map evers and such, it's been tough to find much.

Play on the private server ICCup.com That's where all the good players are hiding...

I'm not the greatest or even close to the best Starcraft player. I have played many games and lost fairly but u always must watch out for hackers. I get killed usually becuase hackers some how get mutas from zerg somehow instantly it is really sad to lose without a chance. I was also wonder i luv starcraft best game ive ever played but i sadly have never tried games like Warcraft or Halo 2 and that crap is warcraft worth getting at a time like this or should i just stick with the starcraft and die waiting for the 2nd?

Mutas instantly? Perhaps you just don't know how to play?

I would make sure you're educated about "hackers" before calling someone out...a player may just know a build order your unfamiliar with.

As for the other games, Warcraft3 is extremely micro intensive, more so than SC in many ways. But macro is almost nonexistent. So, it takes a different sort of skill...might be worth getting if you don't mind learning a new game.

Halo 2 is loads of fun, but halo 3 comes out in september. Another game that takes loads of time investment to become good at.

You might as well play a new game, SC2 won't be released for quite some time.

I too share your frustration and have to agree with Wolfe.

Most good players are in a clan and only arrange games within their clan privately or will only be on teams with their clan members, etc etc.

I remember when I first started playing the game they were out there--Now they are scarce. I am not saying that I'm all great too or whatever--But it's nice to finally have a challenge every once in a while
