Well from what I have heard, Starcraft 2 is going to be ran off of the Warcraft III engine, so there is a possible chance there might be heroes, just not as customized as Warcraft III heroes, I am sure they will focus on more of massive armies, then heroes...

to be honest, I don't like WC3 heroes... and I won't like it on SC2 also.

Yea, I am sure they will have heroes like raynor and kerrigan, you know just normal units upgraded a little bit like SC, and BW

Personally I'd welcome heroes. The only problem with them for SC2 is because SC1 missions constantly varied between small commando missions and large scale battles. I'm not sure how powerful they would be or what kind of unit they would be. Like would they be an air unit or a ground unit?

i disagree with this on a huge level, heroes are a huge thing, from their dmg, attack, and skill capabilities. all wc3 pro's would agree taht hero rushing such as the Blade Master(as an ex.) is such a huge impact and a time delayer on the opponent.

i dont mind having or not having heroes for sc2, but "if" they would add heroes into this game... i just hope they balance things out to its best tip top shape.

but then again... i would really wanna play the game with no heroes aswell, just plain old stratigical skills. maybe they can make both... a custom game option that would give you the choice of having heroes in the game or not at all.

From the blizzard forums:

1. What is the role of heroes in StarCraft II? Will they be the same as in StarCraft?

StarCraft II campaign heroes will fulfill roles similar to what appeared in the original StarCraft single player experience, but they will have even more unique abilities from standard units, and will be more innovatively integrated into the story campaign. Heroes will not be buildable in multiplayer.

They have stated in multiple interviews that there will not be heroes in SC2. I for one, am extremely glad. Wc3 armies were build arounf the hero, and losing a hero was as costly as losing 6 carriers without getting anything for them. The later the game got, the bigger the loss. I'm much happier with the way hero-less starcraft works.

If they create heroes in StarCraft2 and 4-th race the game will be like WarCraft but with more Limit and in the future
