StarCarft2... heroes???
I was wondering... would sc2 have heroes just like warcraft3? And if they would, how would they summon them, and if they would die, how would you be able to revive the hero?

I'm pretty sure SC2 won't have heroes, especially since then it'd be way too much "Warcraft 3 in space". If it does have heroes, there's a good chance I won't even buy it.
Heroes have no place in an RTS game.

This is the one thing that allows SC and WC to remain somewhat different games while still both being RTSs. In WC3 a skilled player would only need a handfull of units to do considerable damage. However it required a lot of micro and spell casting. The hero being a big piece in that. SC on the other hand, esp at the end of longer games, requires less micro of your armies since both teams are just pumping out massive armies and sending them to fight. In the gameplay video the guy notes that SC2 is still about large armies just as the first one. The mothership is the closest thing to a hero we will see as far as abilities. I can almost guarantee you we won't see actual heroes similar to wc3. To be actually be usefull against large armies and be worth having they would have to pack quite a punch.

I don't think that WC3 heroes would change SC2 much from SC1. They had heroes in almost every single player mission.
I never saw Starcraft as battles between huge armies. More often than not I would build groups of five or six units on hit and run missions. Rarely did I make armies larger than 20 units. Warcraft 2 was more about building huge groups of Ogres or Dragons and sending them into massive battles. Warcraft 3 turned into a game of micro-management without much complaint.

The campaign heroes such as Raynor and Kerrigan are fine, and are confirmed to be returning, but we're talking about the WC3 heroes here, that can be used in multiplayer.
As for SC1, I believe you are both right; it's both micro AND macro...

Are you talking about single player? In long multiplayer games often times I would max out my food. By not penalizing players with upkeep for large armies there's no reason why you shouldn't be building more units if you have the spare cash.

I think starcraft can be for both, but if anything, the designers almost meant for small groups at a time because they only let you select 12 units at a time. Unlike other RTS games like Red Alert where you can select unlimited units.

in SC2, I think we can select more than 12 units. CMIIW.
anyway, in the game play demo, when a group of protoss zealot teleported to battle a pack of zergling, why do we have to place each one of zealot, not all in one click?
How do you like it?

CMIIW = ?
Hmm.. good question on the warping-click thing. I don't mind it this way though, as it allows you to warp in units in a pre-defined formation, such as an arch or perhaps scatered throughout your minerals to defend them. Kinda neat.

If you look in the command window you see that when warping in th 16 zealots the player first has selected 16 buildings possibly. This makes me wonder if you can actually just warp any unit from anywhere or if it is more like the ability to set an instant waypoint for units being built.
