Pay-To-Play Rumor, Broken!
I have heard numerous complaints and rumors that StarCraft 2, will be a Pay-To-Play for online play. False! I have done research on StarCraft.org; The Official StarCraft 2 Website. StarCraft 2 will be played online via Battle.Net, once again for free, as of like Starcraft and Starcraft: BroodWar. I do not know if Battle.Net/Blizzard will change their minds or faqs, but from what I have read, it will be free!

What specifically proved this? Anything from somewhere other than the official site or from an official interview is still just rumors. Where on the official site does it say it's free. Just because it will be on battle.net does not mean it will be free like the current battle.net.

What I read is Starcraft II will be free-to-play via Battle.net...

Oh, I highly doubt they'd make it a pay-to-play. But I wish they did. It'd weed out a lot of the immature and rude players.. but I really doubt they will make it pay-to-play.

Yea, what Modules said, except for the Pay-To-Play part, I disagree with P2P

the problem with having it p2p is that those of us without jobs would not have such an easy time continually playing the game. That is the thing I hate about Xbox, is that they make you pay for live, and make almost all of their games Live compatible. It takes all the fun away.

If it'll be p2p game performance will be too much dependent on individual player. Which probably means loads of lag because for example a Russian will have bad connectivity with an American, while with conventional servers the Russian will connect to a server near him and let the server manage conns with the American..
And starcraft.org isn't an official site.
